With the year Jaguar is having — its 2017 Jaguar F-PACE with record sales, the 2017 Jaguar XE turning heads and earning respect, and the Jaguar F-TYPE proving to be a sports car for the ages — a few other spots in the lineup have escaped notice. The Jaguar XF, the company’s midsize offering available at Jaguar dealers in Massachusetts and beyond, has plenty to offer as well.
The 2017 Jaguar XF comes to the Jaguar Peabody showroom soon. It’s largely unchanged from its 2016 counterpart, with one big exception: a new 180 horsepower four-cylinder diesel engine will now be one of the powerplant options alongside the existing supercharged 340 and 380 horsepower V6 engines. Everything else carries over from before, including trim levels (the base XF is joined by the XF Premium, XF Prestige, XF R-SPORT, and XF-S).
As you’d expect, even the base XF trim has an impressive feature set, including 18-inch alloy wheels, All Surface Progress Control, Jaguar InControl® Remote & Protect™, Jaguar InControl® with an 8-inch touchscreen, and available all-wheel drive. Subsequent trim levels bulk out that feature set, so by the time you get to the mid-level Jaguar XF Prestige, you’re treated to Taurus Leather seats (heated in front), an upgraded navigation system, and front and rear parking aids. Step further up to the Jaguar XF-S and you’ll see the 380 hp supercharged V6 engine as standard equipment. All wheel drive is optional here as well, but features like Lane Keep Assist, LED headlights, blind spot monitoring and reverse traffic detection, adaptive dynamics, and a special “S” body kit all come standard.
