A couple of months ago, we talked about the renewed buzz surrounding the Jaguar C-X75, slated to appear in the soon-to-be-released James Bond film “Spectre.” The C-X75 was one of Jaguar’s most forward-looking concept cars, a diesel over electric hybrid that would’ve been produced in collaboration with Williams F1. While the falling economy put the lid on the car ever coming to production, its star turn in “Spectre” has the car popping up on enthusiasts’ wish lists all over again. Recent developments in Mexico City mean that the C-X75 won’t be fading from view any time soon.

So what happened in Mexico City? Funny you should ask. Jaguar handed the keys to a C-X75 to Formula One driver Felipe Massa and decided to film the result. And what a result. After all, many of us imagine what it’d be like to climb behind a car specced out like the Jaguar C-X75. Massa turned out to be a wise choice. After all, who better to squeeze every last ounce of performance out of such a capable car than a bona fide racecar driver?

As a member of the Williams Martini Racing team, Massa’s a natural choice. And Mexico City — where the film premiered on November 2 — also made perfect sense. Massa, who’s driven some of the fastest cars out there in demanding conditions, spoke of the “thrill” of being behind the wheel of the C-X75, and enthused about how much fun he’d had driving the car.

We can’t put you behind the wheel of a Jaguar C-X75 — at least not unless and until Jaguar changes its mind about putting the car in production. But that doesn’t mean you need to miss out on the action. The 2016 Jaguar F-Type, for instance, has thrills and excitement to spare. Come to the Jaguar Peabody showroom in Nashua to see for yourself!
