The 2018 Jaguar E-PACE is already on sale in the UK, and the early reviews are positive. Ahead of its availability at Jaguar Peabody for our customers from Andover, MA to Nashua, NH, we wanted to give you a preview of what awaits when the newest Jaguar SUV comes to our showroom.

First, a closer look at the SUV. The 2018 Jaguar E-PACE is smaller than the popular Jaguar F-PACE SUV. However, it’s not merely a shrunken version. They do share some stylistic cues — you can definitely see the family lineage — but the designers were careful to give the newest Jaguar model its own identity. The front end bears an even stronger resemblance to the Jaguar F-TYPE, while the rear takes after the Jaguar F-PACE.

There are multiple power plants available overseas. We aren’t yet sure if the base diesel model will make it to the States, but there are two gas-powered versions in the offing. One, found in the base Jaguar E-PACE and the limited-edition Jaguar E-PACE First Edition, is a turbocharged 246 horsepower 2.0-liter Ingenium four-cylinder engine. The other is found in the Jaguar E-PACE R-Dynamic, and offers the same displacement and number of cylinders but manages 296 horsepower.

Each trim receives its own accents and amenities, including trim-specific wheel sizes, an R-Dynamic steering wheel on the upper trims, Auto High Beam Assist, configurable ambient lighting, ebony accents, premium Meridian sound system, head-up information display, and keyless entry.

One thing that will make the Jaguar E-PACE attractive to buyers is its list of safety features. The expected passive safety features are present on all trims. What’s unique is that many driver assist features — including lane keep assist, emergency braking, active cruise control, and a rearview camera — are standard on all trims, with only a few features (a Drive Pack, Park Pack, and Active Driveline) limited to the upper trims.
