The 2018 Geneva International Motor Show is in full swing, and after a number of concept models and prototypes, it looks like we’re getting our first look at a production-spec version of the 2019 Jaguar I-PACE. In short? This new Jaguar SUV keeps looking better and better. You’ll be able to order it soon from Jaguar Peabody.

Battery Details

The 2019 Jaguar I-PACE packs a 90kWh lithium-ion battery made up of 432 pouch cells. According to Jaguar, this enables a 298-mile maximum range, as well as the ability to get an 80% charge in less than an hour and a half using a 50 kilowatt DC connection. That time is cut to just 40 minutes using a 100kW rapid charger, and if you’re using a common household connection, it will charge to 80% in about ten hours.

Powertrain Details

So what can drivers expect out of that battery? Each axle has two electric motors, for 395 net horsepower and 513 lb.-ft. of torque. Since that torque is available practically instantaneously, the 4.5 second 0-60 time should come as no surprise. Given the perfect 50/50 weight distribution afforded by innovative design and the careful placement of the battery pack, that power comes with exceptional handling as well.

Other Considerations

Outside, the Jaguar I-PACE looks different than any other SUV. The lack of an engine leaves a more cab-forward look than would be possible with the Jaguar F-PACE, while the aerodynamics lead to a slippery 0.29 drag coefficient. Inside, there’s ample passenger space, cargo space ranging from 23.1-51.3 cubic feet, the new Touch Pro Duo infotainment system, new over-the-air software update capability, and a new navigation system. It will be available in four trims (First Edition, S, SE, and HSE).

Ordering is now open in the UK and will be open soon at your Jaguar dealership. For more information, visit Jaguar Peabody at 247 Newbury St today!
