Renowned British physicist Professor Stephen Hawking has led an amazing life. At turns witty, controversial, and forward-thinking, his work and life have been defined by his genius. Through his research, scholarly work, and bestselling books like “A Brief History of Time,” the 74-year-old professor has changed how we view the world and our place in it. To be sure, he’s built an impressive resume. But he felt there was something missing; as he told the magazine Wired in 2014, he’d always wanted to play a Bond villain. Now, thanks to Jaguar, he’s a step closer to realizing that dream.

Hawking released a statement via his Facebook page that read in part: “I have always wanted to be in a movie playing the part of a typical British villain. And now, thanks to Jaguar my wish has come true. I am proud to present the premiere of the launch commercial for Jaguar’s first performance SUV, the new Jaguar F-PACE.”

The commercial picks up where other recent Jaguar commercials — featuring the likes of Sir Ben Kingsley and others playing heavies — left off. A 2017 Jaguar F-PACE is driven through some snowy mountain roads to a futuristic-looking hideout, where the driver encounters Hawking. We hesitate to spoil the ad, and the fun that comes from Hawking’s one-liners, but we suggest heading to the physicist’s Facebook page and viewing the commercial there ahead of the vehicle’s arrival at our Jaguar dealership.

The staff at Jaguar of Peabody can’t turn you into a Bond villain, or into 007 himself; we’re good, but we’re not that good. But we can do the next best thing: we can help you reserve your 2017 Jaguar F-PACE, or put you behind the wheel of a 2016 Jaguar F-TYPE. It won’t make you as smart as Stephen Hawking, but its sharp styling will at least make you look seriously debonair. And while you may not find yourself in dangerous situations with suspicious foreign operatives, you will soon find that a Jaguar does something even better: you can go as far as your imagination (and a tank of gas) will take you.
